Bill Gillett, CLU®, CLTC, RHU®, REBC®, AIF®, CSA®, is the president and CEO of The Commonwealth Agency, Inc., and he is in the business of helping his clients to build, protect, and preserve their family income.
Bill founded The Commonwealth Agency, Inc., in 1995 after past affiliations with both Prudential Financial Services and Allmerica Financial Services. At Allmerica, Bill specialized in long-term disability and long-term-care insurance planning.
Professionally, Bill has earned the following designations: Certified in Long-Term Care (CLTC), offered through the Corporation for Long-Term Care Certification, Inc., located in Needham, Massachusetts; Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®), Registered Health Underwriter (RHU®), and Registered Employee Benefits Consultant (REBC®), all three offered through the American College (Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania); and Accredited Investment Fiduciary (AIF®), offered through Fiduciary360 (Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania); and Certified Senior Advisor (CSA®), offered through the Society of Certified Senior Advisors Inc., located in Denver, Colorado.
Bill operates as both a Registered Representative and an Investment Adviser Representative of Commonwealth Financial Network® and holds the FINRA Series 6 and 63 securities registrations. He is also licensed to sell life and health insurance.
In the past, through membership within a variety of clubs and organizations, Bill held positions on executive boards and participated on several committees. Among the clubs were The Exchange Club of Southern Dutchess, The Canadian Club of New York, and The Greater Southern Dutchess Chamber of Commerce. Currently, Bill maintains his membership in The Exchange Club of Southern Dutchess.
Academically, Bill earned his BA degree from Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada. Bill was born and raised in the Ottawa area. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family; relaxing in the outdoors; golfing and playing, watching, or coaching hockey. He lives in Fishkill, New York, with his wife, daughters, and dogs. Special note: Most of the pictures used on this website are from Bill's past vacations in Prince Edward Island, a part of Canada where he maintains strong family ties.
